Change Management

Whether within organisational boundaries, or working across regions, large-scale service re-configurations are inevitable - the change must be clinically led to be credible.

We need leaders who are comfortable with a compass and a weather forecast - there are no sat navs

My own quotation there. This is probably the most important concept to work with when developing clinical networks, and when trying to design and manage change in organisations with the complexity foun in healthcare.

I consider the offer where I can bring greatest value is in bringing networks and teams together in an environment where it is difficult or even impossible to see more thaa 1 - 2 years into the future, and where resource is limited.

The implementation of the National Clinical Framework in Wales, and the establishment of reformed National Clincial Networks was acheived in an extremely resource-limited environment. The approach has attracted attention from other health care systems, and I have appeared as a panellist at HIMMS and ICHOM conferences to share with colleagues.

I am confident I can help clinical leaders and their networks and teams become proficient in using a compass and weather forecast to navigate on the never-ending voyage of transformation.
